From Judgment to Love

Recently, I kept catching myself being judgmental; and worse, I was doing it while I also judged others of being judgmental. Wow, really? Who me? Additionally, I was judging others by assuming that they were going to judge me and this I have come to see was a negative block in keeping me from moving forward. Oh what a tangled web we weave.

Finding and accepting fault in our self is never easy. It is probably safe to assume that I have always been this way and am now noticing as I further evolve in the light. It is possible that there has been an increase due to my participation in social media where before I was rarely exposed to the public opinions of the masses. I also currently live in a closer-knit community than I ever have before where I am exposed more closely to many more people. Never mind the excuses, whatever the case, it has shown itself in my Divine list of things to correct.

This is something we all do, isn’t it? We do not intend to, we really sometimes mean no harm. Our mind is geared to make judgments of course; judgments that assist us in daily living. We are making judgments every moment of the day for our survival and well being. It is when we use this tool to negatively judge others, or even to pre-judge (prejudice), then we are misusing the tool. I am guilty, we are all guilty.

Overcoming this vice is simple in theory, it requires first awareness (such as I am experiencing), then re-programming the mind to simply observe rather than judge. Sending a kind thought to the person helps to turn a negative into a positive. Saying a quick prayer can be helpful as well. Just stay on top of it and in awareness.

Jesus said, “Judge not, that ye be not judged.” Matthew 7:1 (KJV). In allowing ourselves to emit love to all, judgment cannot be a factor or then we become selective to whom we send or give love and this is crucial, for as He also said in John 13:34, “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.” (KJV). Therefore if we are being judgmental in any way, we cannot fully love one another.

We must stop all judgment that is harmful to others so that we can move from judgment to love.

Bible Will Teach You How to Know Your Enemy; Know Your Self

When we study the Word, and we are given the ears to hear, and the ability to discern, we can then be confident of the truth from wherever it comes. Last night in re-watching the movie, “Birth of the Dragon,” I was able to understand so much more due to my Bible studies. From the movie, “Lesson number one, know your enemy. Lesson number two, know your self. With these two principles, you need never fear a thousand battles.” This was so heavy and so profound and I got it on such a deep spiritual level regarding all facets of life (not just regarding two men in physical combat). The Bible has shown me how to know my enemy and to know my self and therefore not fear. When we truly understand that we are an eternal child of God, then we know our self . When we understand that anyone or thing (including our own thoughts) that is not in the light of God is of the darkness (even those lost in the gray), then we know our enemy.  Jesus said in Mathew 12:30, “He t...

He Will Make My Feet Like Deer's Feet

There is a tree out my window with branches that look like a stag. I have been contemplating it for years. Sometimes I forget about it, others I see it. The tree stag has been jumping out at me recently again.  I looked it up and found a couple quotes on websites, “the stag came to symbolize God’s power, nobility, freedom and purity.” In Scottish lore, it symbolizes regeneration because of the antlers. “In the Christian imagination, the deer is a symbol of piety, devotion and of God taking care of his children: men.” “In it's simplest form, deer symbolize the joys of loving Christ intimately (Song of Songs 2:7). In biblical symbology, deer represent piety, devotion, and safety in God's care. They are a symbol of thirst and longing for the Lord. ... Deer feet are an analogy for our spiritual feet.”  There were also a couple saints associated with the stag as divine encounters. It basically represents something good in every culture, but I went with the Scottish...
