Many of us search and search and try and try to awaken, thinking there is something we need to do. We seek out tools, guidance, meditation, so many things when really all we need to do is to  allow  the process to occur. Enlightenment may not always come in sudden grandeur but rather it may also be that it appears in something as simple as the contemplation of the sun’s rays upon a single leaf. Today was a blessed day for me and I hope it was for you as well. Though most people are sitting around with their feet up, feeling full, relaxing and perhaps watching the first Christmas movie of the season, after Thanksgiving is really a good time to contemplate your blessings, contemplate with gratitude all of the blessings that you received today. It is also a good seg-way period before the holiday season kicks into full swing to reflect on how you would truly like to spend the holiday season. Ask yourself questions that will help you to create and experience your ideal season. How can you cut down on stress or or chaos? How can you add more quiet time and real joy to the season? What can you do differently this year? How can you help or bring joy to others during the holiday season? How can you celebrate without over-spending? How can you celebrate the true meaning of the season? These are just a few suggestions, you will have your own reflections and thoughts but

Thanksgiving may not be a religious holiday but it is certainly a spiritual holiday in that it is a day that we give thanks for all that we have received. Our forefathers set aside this day to thank God for their survival and the abundance and help that they received from the Native Americans and we continue the tradition to honor them as well as to give thanks for our own abundance. Though we may not have it as hard today as they did some four-hundred years ago, still we are grateful for all that we have and have been given. Let us thank the Spirit and show our love and gratitude as we spend time this holiday with family, loved ones, friends and neighbors, or even a stranger or two. My Thanksgiving prayer is that everyone in America has a warm meal on this day (and of course every day) and that we are guided to help those we may. Allow the holiday spirit to guide and fill your purpose this week and throughout the holiday season. Thanksgiving blessings to all.

We may all have different beliefs but every day, all over the world in churches, synagogue, temples, convents, ashrams, homes, even in the wilderness and remote areas, women are in prayer. Though in many traditional belief systems, women were placed in subjection to men, women have also been the backbone of spiritual pleas, blessings and teachings within the family, the home, the community, the churches or places of worship, and schools. As I move forward on my spiritual journey of life (and that is what this blog is about), it is my intent to share more of my personal experiences that are not always in my books or at my official site, What If WE are the Angels . My faith has always been strong but also a battle to maintain. I was really wondering this morning why every single day has to be such a battle for me to have faith; overcoming fears seems to be my biggest challenge. I thought nature, nurture, whatever, but I think at least in my own case, it is because I chose to live on faith, there is nothing else to fall back on, there is no Plan B. Possibly people who work every day nine to five, get a regular paycheck, have health insurance, have a false sense of security in that at some level they believe that they are somewhat in control of their lives. In a sense they have a Plan B to fall back on, insurance, retirement, etc., but even those things can fall through as many discover. I didn’t go that path; I went the path of faith, day to day and it is not the easy path and there is nothing to fall back on except having more faith. You would think by now I would be pretty good at it, and I am much better, I bounce back way more

We all have our own spiritual rate of growth depending upon our healing, our lessons, our belief (or lack of it) and our own individual needs. It is important to understand this, especially at times when it feels like things are not moving forward or that prayers have gone unanswered. Everything is received in Divine timing based upon our unique needs and growth rate. Now this is not to say that we cannot stagnate within our growth because we certainly can but even inside that stagnation, if we become alert, we will see and find our growth and we will then be able to move forward. Our spiritual growth rate is directly related to our awakened state and the desire to move toward enlightenment. Without these, we can yes, remain stagnate with little-to-no spiritual growth indefinitely, many people do, but they are where they are on the spiritual path. Does it matter at what rate we grow spiritually? This is a yes and a no answer. Yes in that it should matter because that is
