Easter: Faith and Comfort for Renewal

Every Easter is hopeful. Every Easter provides us with a new, refreshed outlook and rejuvenation as we celebrate the Resurrection, however this Easter seems even more important than ever given the world situation with the virus. We need hope, strength and regeneration more than ever and most of all, we need the comfort of our faith. It is almost ironic that this is happening during Holy Week, perhaps a strong reminder that indeed we need to return to the comfort of our faith and when better than at Easter? Many are in dire straits, many are ill, many have suffered loss and many fear it. Most all people, all over the world, are feeling and experiencing these same things, however there is one difference, and that is whether or not there is faith because faith alleviates fear, lifts us up, helps us to heal and offers comfort and hope through Christ. Without this faith, fear and panic run rampant and we focus only on our suffering.  Humanity is suffering, the world is sufferi

Instructions for a Fearful Time

There are many continuous upsetting and disturbing news pieces on the Coronavirus and it is easy for fears to take complete control of our minds. Reading the Bible for strength and guidance in all this is the best thing we can absorb, not the news.  Beginning with the verse to which I was led, Luke 6:46, “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?” (NIV) I then asked myself what did He say to do, and went on from there all through Matthew and made a list of pertinent and helpful instructions in the current situation, His instructions.  We have already been given the instruction, yet we forget and don’t do it, and then plead for help although the help is right there in front of us.  If we actually do it rather than just read it, it works, and all negativity disappears. Of course, prayers and pleading do help, because when answered, then we are led back to the words of instruction. These are His instructions; this is what He wants us to do and to remember

Time on Our Hands

Many of us are finding extra time on hand with stay-at-home orders, quarantines and social distancing. This offers us the opportunity to look at the work we do, are doing, or have done in light of the spirit, in light of our destiny and God's will. How will the work we do reflect back on who we are as a person? How we do that work is even more meaningful than the work itself at times; is it done with a smile, with kindness and compassion, with joy? We do truly want the fruit of our hands and labor to reflect the love, light and joy of the Holy Spirit in all we do and to those whose lives we touch. This is a part of our path to wholeness; when we are balanced and whole, we can do the work of God. Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates. Proverbs 31:31 If during this time on hand, you are feeling dissatisfied with your work, are searching for more meaning or feeling a lack of purpose, turn to the bible wherein you will f

Invitation to Awakening

Romans 13:11   And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. With the current spread of the coronavirus and the ramifications  that have ensued, we are undergoing a mass near-death experience in the collective consciousness, worldwide, all people, together.  For those whose hearts are open, this will evolve into personal and spiritual transformation. This is an invitation to the awakening of Christ within.  This is a worldwide invitation; this is a personal invitation. Is your heart open to receiving this invitation? How will you respond? And what better timing to receive this invitation than Palm Sunday and Holy Week? 33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.  John 16:30-33
