Normally I do not do New Year’s resolution because
inevitably I end up blowing them off then consequently perceiving them as
failures or things I did not accomplish. This year though I would not consider
them resolutions, I do have a few things I want to work on and improve. Though
they might be considered “little” things, they are indeed the foundation for
being a positive, well balanced person striving to be in the light.
Waking to joy instead of irritability, being pleasant to
those around me, offering a smile, adding a dash of discipline such as
exercising patience, and finding and extending love and kindness even if I am
not feeling it.
These are some of the little things that add up to the big things.
How can we expect to achieve what we perceive as the bigger things, if we
cannot master the simple, smaller things, especially those involving the will
and self-control, giving and loving?
