How Is Your Week Going To Go?

It’s a new week with a fresh chance to make it a great week. But that’s not possible, you say; things are going to come up, there will be stress at times, upsets may happen . . .  yes these are all true because that is life and these types of things are a part of every day and are unavoidable but it is our behavior and reactions that determine the outcome.

Determining how your week is going to go is a simple matter of determining to turn it all over to God. Committing yourself to staying in touch with the Spirit is the key to how it all works out. Staying in touch means that you will:

  • React Calmly

When we stay in communion with the Spirit, we are able to react and/or stay calm in situations where we otherwise might loose control, say things we don’t mean, exhibit anger, etc. Staying in communion is like staying in a state of conscious meditation and prayer, asking and receiving with every situation, person or task, the calming flow of the Spirit; it is staying in the consciousness of Christ in all things.

  • Receive More Guidance

By staying in communion with the Holy Spirit, we are able to receive guidance that we would not otherwise receive when we are blocked off or out of touch. We will have a knowing of what is right in each given moment so that we can act accordingly. A sense of deep joy and trust then develops which serves to strengthen our faith in God’s guidance for us.

  • Be Willing

When we are in touch with the Spirit, we are much more apt to be “willing” in circumstances where we would not necessarily be so without God’s direction. We might be feeling stubborn or selfish or clinging to anger but when we are in communion with God throughout the day each day, we become willing to do what is right and not only do we become willing but we desire it because we want to be pleasing.

No matter how we spend each day of the coming week, there is always an answer for us, there is always help available no matter the task. If we take it one step at a time and ask to re-energize for the next task as we go through the day each day, we will have a great week knowing that we are being guided by the grace of God in all things.

Suggestions to help stay in touch:

  • Read the Bible
  • Continued prayer throughout the day
  • Thoughtful contemplation during breaks
  • Small easy flash-cards with favorite verses and reminders
  • Continued gratitude
  • Acting on inspiration
  • Short spaces of quiet time to re-align

Proverbs 3 Verses 5 - 6. [5] Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. [6] In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Have an amazing week!

Bible Will Teach You How to Know Your Enemy; Know Your Self

When we study the Word, and we are given the ears to hear, and the ability to discern, we can then be confident of the truth from wherever it comes. Last night in re-watching the movie, “Birth of the Dragon,” I was able to understand so much more due to my Bible studies. From the movie, “Lesson number one, know your enemy. Lesson number two, know your self. With these two principles, you need never fear a thousand battles.” This was so heavy and so profound and I got it on such a deep spiritual level regarding all facets of life (not just regarding two men in physical combat). The Bible has shown me how to know my enemy and to know my self and therefore not fear. When we truly understand that we are an eternal child of God, then we know our self . When we understand that anyone or thing (including our own thoughts) that is not in the light of God is of the darkness (even those lost in the gray), then we know our enemy.  Jesus said in Mathew 12:30, “He t...

He Will Make My Feet Like Deer's Feet

There is a tree out my window with branches that look like a stag. I have been contemplating it for years. Sometimes I forget about it, others I see it. The tree stag has been jumping out at me recently again.  I looked it up and found a couple quotes on websites, “the stag came to symbolize God’s power, nobility, freedom and purity.” In Scottish lore, it symbolizes regeneration because of the antlers. “In the Christian imagination, the deer is a symbol of piety, devotion and of God taking care of his children: men.” “In it's simplest form, deer symbolize the joys of loving Christ intimately (Song of Songs 2:7). In biblical symbology, deer represent piety, devotion, and safety in God's care. They are a symbol of thirst and longing for the Lord. ... Deer feet are an analogy for our spiritual feet.”  There were also a couple saints associated with the stag as divine encounters. It basically represents something good in every culture, but I went with the Scottish...
