I would like to take the first day of June out to buy her a
hat.
Seems like the thing to do, or something like that.
Stop and sip tea, in girlish glee,
With a simple toast to her warm summer breeze.
She is an old friend with memories shared
Of days gone by without a care,
Thank her for those youthful days
Beneath the Texas
sky and its soft humid haze.
Perhaps she would remember as well and think me her friend,
And we could cherish her Junely smile once again.
