Getting Spiritually Centered and Focused for the Week

Mondays can be difficult to get focused and any day can easily get out of sync if we are not focused. Worry, fear, distractions come in all forms and invade our thoughts and before we know it, we have begun to spiral downward which takes us out of the spiritual flow. What is true is right now, this day, this moment. Anything else is fear, worry, speculation or distraction and all of these will rob your focus.

Getting re-focused is the best way to get the joy and the energy flowing again. Picking a verse to help you re-focus throughout the day is a simple and effective way to get back into the flow of the Spirit in all that you think and do. Memorize one for the day and pause to repeat it whenever you need to re-focus.

Following are a few suggested Bible verses on staying focused:

Romans 8:5 . . . those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.

Proverbs 16:3
3 Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.

Psalm 119:105
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Romans 12:2
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Isaiah 26:3
3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Proverbs 3:6
In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Just following these simple suggestions and verses will make a tremendous difference in how you feel and all that you can accomplish and it will help to spur your spiritual growth toward the person that you are seeking to become.

 Many blessings.

Bible Will Teach You How to Know Your Enemy; Know Your Self

When we study the Word, and we are given the ears to hear, and the ability to discern, we can then be confident of the truth from wherever it comes. Last night in re-watching the movie, “Birth of the Dragon,” I was able to understand so much more due to my Bible studies. From the movie, “Lesson number one, know your enemy. Lesson number two, know your self. With these two principles, you need never fear a thousand battles.” This was so heavy and so profound and I got it on such a deep spiritual level regarding all facets of life (not just regarding two men in physical combat). The Bible has shown me how to know my enemy and to know my self and therefore not fear. When we truly understand that we are an eternal child of God, then we know our self . When we understand that anyone or thing (including our own thoughts) that is not in the light of God is of the darkness (even those lost in the gray), then we know our enemy.  Jesus said in Mathew 12:30, “He t...

He Will Make My Feet Like Deer's Feet

There is a tree out my window with branches that look like a stag. I have been contemplating it for years. Sometimes I forget about it, others I see it. The tree stag has been jumping out at me recently again.  I looked it up and found a couple quotes on websites, “the stag came to symbolize God’s power, nobility, freedom and purity.” In Scottish lore, it symbolizes regeneration because of the antlers. “In the Christian imagination, the deer is a symbol of piety, devotion and of God taking care of his children: men.” “In it's simplest form, deer symbolize the joys of loving Christ intimately (Song of Songs 2:7). In biblical symbology, deer represent piety, devotion, and safety in God's care. They are a symbol of thirst and longing for the Lord. ... Deer feet are an analogy for our spiritual feet.”  There were also a couple saints associated with the stag as divine encounters. It basically represents something good in every culture, but I went with the Scottish...
