No Expiration On Dreams

No Expiration

Looking for a dream . . . waiting on the train.
Red lipstick and a suitcase full of hope.
No expiration.
Swirling fantasies collide with the conductor’s call . . .
“All aboard.”
I make my way down the aisle of mystery,
And I wake. Breakfast needs to be made, laundry beckons me
To a clotheslined horizon.
Looking for a dream . . . waiting on the coffee.
Red Lipstick and a skillet full of hope.
No expiration.

Bible Will Teach You How to Know Your Enemy; Know Your Self

When we study the Word, and we are given the ears to hear, and the ability to discern, we can then be confident of the truth from wherever it comes. Last night in re-watching the movie, “Birth of the Dragon,” I was able to understand so much more due to my Bible studies. From the movie, “Lesson number one, know your enemy. Lesson number two, know your self. With these two principles, you need never fear a thousand battles.” This was so heavy and so profound and I got it on such a deep spiritual level regarding all facets of life (not just regarding two men in physical combat). The Bible has shown me how to know my enemy and to know my self and therefore not fear. When we truly understand that we are an eternal child of God, then we know our self . When we understand that anyone or thing (including our own thoughts) that is not in the light of God is of the darkness (even those lost in the gray), then we know our enemy.  Jesus said in Mathew 12:30, “He t...

Returning to Peace in the Midst of Darkness

As are many Americans, I am having trouble processing this latest mass shooting, it gets harder every time. Do I just stay in the monk cell and be quiet or speak my mind or just turn it over or what? Just worry about dealing with my own self or the welfare of others? Jesus spoke out. The Pope speaks out. Paul spoke out. Keep silent so as not to offend the sensitivities of my “friends” or stand for the lives and the rights and safety of American children? It seems there is something wrong with a nation that would support the rights to have automatic weapons over the safety of our children. Disagree? Don’t get in my face; get in Christ’s face and sincerely ask what He has to say about children being murdered as we sit and allow it. The Apostle Paul tells us, “Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.” Romans 14:19 The Pope can speak better than I . . .  “In the silence of the Cross, the uproar of weapons ceases and the lan...
