Returning to Peace in the Midst of Darkness

As are many Americans, I am having trouble processing this latest mass shooting, it gets harder every time. Do I just stay in the monk cell and be quiet or speak my mind or just turn it over or what? Just worry about dealing with my own self or the welfare of others? Jesus spoke out. The Pope speaks out. Paul spoke out. Keep silent so as not to offend the sensitivities of my “friends” or stand for the lives and the rights and safety of American children? It seems there is something wrong with a nation that would support the rights to have automatic weapons over the safety of our children. Disagree? Don’t get in my face; get in Christ’s face and sincerely ask what He has to say about children being murdered as we sit and allow it.

The Apostle Paul tells us, “Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.” Romans 14:19

The Pope can speak better than I . . .  “In the silence of the Cross, the uproar of weapons ceases and the language of reconciliation, forgiveness, dialogue, and peace is spoken.”

We are all having a hard time processing and I have heard through my guidance, be through twice so I guess that means let it go, but it is hard. As always, I ask to be guided in my work.

I turned to several verses
Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us walk in the Spirit.

6:1 Brethern if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness . . .
This would imply to speak out, but gently.

5:15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed of one another.
This one implies speaking out and getting caught up in the drama of it all which defeats the purpose.

The more I study the Bible, the more I want to want to answer everything at this point with a bible quote, not to thump, but to share the answer because the answers are there. But alas, those without ears cannot hear. Would that all those who claim to be spiritual actually followed the teachings in which they claim to believe.

People are killed violently all over the world every day all day and if we are distracted perhaps by one incident then what? Or every incident? We would never get anything done, we would be so constantly distracted by the dark that we would never be able to spread any light.

I am trying to find the righteous way to process this or to think of it or to react. How to react is I guess what I am struggling with. Likely it is best to let it go and get back to my research and writing. But we are to spread the word, the light, the message, and I cannot do that being quiet but maybe I am not there yet. I guess praying on the thing then not acting until one is sure is the answer.

Writing is the only tool I have, the voice I have, but as I am reminded by my own blog from yesterday, “be pleased,” therefore returning to peace is the answer and that is within, so I simply return to my peace and do what I may for others each day to help shine the light. When in doubt, pray. So with heartfelt intention, I offer prayers of protection for the children of America as well as of the world, for they are indeed our future.

For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace . . .
1 Corinthians 14:33

Follow the light of your heart!
Many blessings.

Bible Will Teach You How to Know Your Enemy; Know Your Self

When we study the Word, and we are given the ears to hear, and the ability to discern, we can then be confident of the truth from wherever it comes. Last night in re-watching the movie, “Birth of the Dragon,” I was able to understand so much more due to my Bible studies. From the movie, “Lesson number one, know your enemy. Lesson number two, know your self. With these two principles, you need never fear a thousand battles.” This was so heavy and so profound and I got it on such a deep spiritual level regarding all facets of life (not just regarding two men in physical combat). The Bible has shown me how to know my enemy and to know my self and therefore not fear. When we truly understand that we are an eternal child of God, then we know our self . When we understand that anyone or thing (including our own thoughts) that is not in the light of God is of the darkness (even those lost in the gray), then we know our enemy.  Jesus said in Mathew 12:30, “He t...

He Will Make My Feet Like Deer's Feet

There is a tree out my window with branches that look like a stag. I have been contemplating it for years. Sometimes I forget about it, others I see it. The tree stag has been jumping out at me recently again.  I looked it up and found a couple quotes on websites, “the stag came to symbolize God’s power, nobility, freedom and purity.” In Scottish lore, it symbolizes regeneration because of the antlers. “In the Christian imagination, the deer is a symbol of piety, devotion and of God taking care of his children: men.” “In it's simplest form, deer symbolize the joys of loving Christ intimately (Song of Songs 2:7). In biblical symbology, deer represent piety, devotion, and safety in God's care. They are a symbol of thirst and longing for the Lord. ... Deer feet are an analogy for our spiritual feet.”  There were also a couple saints associated with the stag as divine encounters. It basically represents something good in every culture, but I went with the Scottish...
