As Usual, God Shut Me Up

As Usual God Shut Me Up

As I resorted to a whining fit of misery today due to the fact that it was one-hundred degrees and our air conditioner was not working properly, I allowed myself to sink off into the mire of the ego, cussing beneath my breath and simply absorbing nothing but my own circumstance.

Our mountainous town

My husband and I later went to Wal-mart out on the highway, atop a big hill. The view is amazing and you can see the mountains pretty much three-hundred and sixties degrees. We do not have a vehicle, we normally ride scooters but have borrowed our son’s car while he is to be out of town, and given the ride out the highway, going out there to shop is not something we do. So between my little tiny shopping splurge and the car’s cool air conditioning, I was feeling better and then I saw them: a man and a woman on the corner of the parking lot at the highway, homeless.

The couple looked to be about mine and my husband’s age. The woman was in a wheel-chair and held a sign that said, “need help.” It broke-my-heart. I, in my shame, turned away (which adds even more to the pile of guilt) because it hurt so bad to look. My husband told me that they “live” here but are homeless and have nowhere to go. He said that he sees the man pushing her in her wheel-chair all over town (this is a mountainous town). This broke my heart even further. There they sat in the one-hundred degree heat homeless with no hope of getting out of it.

So, once again, there but for the grace of God go I. It never fails; when I start feeling sorry for myself, I am immediately shown otherwise. I am truly so thankful for all that I am and that I have. Once again, God shut me up and for that I am thankful the most.

Angel blessings for a beautiful day! Namaste.

Bible Will Teach You How to Know Your Enemy; Know Your Self

When we study the Word, and we are given the ears to hear, and the ability to discern, we can then be confident of the truth from wherever it comes. Last night in re-watching the movie, “Birth of the Dragon,” I was able to understand so much more due to my Bible studies. From the movie, “Lesson number one, know your enemy. Lesson number two, know your self. With these two principles, you need never fear a thousand battles.” This was so heavy and so profound and I got it on such a deep spiritual level regarding all facets of life (not just regarding two men in physical combat). The Bible has shown me how to know my enemy and to know my self and therefore not fear. When we truly understand that we are an eternal child of God, then we know our self . When we understand that anyone or thing (including our own thoughts) that is not in the light of God is of the darkness (even those lost in the gray), then we know our enemy.  Jesus said in Mathew 12:30, “He t...

He Will Make My Feet Like Deer's Feet

There is a tree out my window with branches that look like a stag. I have been contemplating it for years. Sometimes I forget about it, others I see it. The tree stag has been jumping out at me recently again.  I looked it up and found a couple quotes on websites, “the stag came to symbolize God’s power, nobility, freedom and purity.” In Scottish lore, it symbolizes regeneration because of the antlers. “In the Christian imagination, the deer is a symbol of piety, devotion and of God taking care of his children: men.” “In it's simplest form, deer symbolize the joys of loving Christ intimately (Song of Songs 2:7). In biblical symbology, deer represent piety, devotion, and safety in God's care. They are a symbol of thirst and longing for the Lord. ... Deer feet are an analogy for our spiritual feet.”  There were also a couple saints associated with the stag as divine encounters. It basically represents something good in every culture, but I went with the Scottish...
