A Woman’s Path to Wholeness Through Biblical Teachings - Getting Started

A Woman’s Path to Wholeness Through Biblical Teachings

(Part of a new ongoing series for women)

It is when we stop seeking that the journey to healing can begin by receiving God's perfect love.

Healing comes from wholeness. Maybe there are multiple paths to wholeness but for me there was only one though I tried many. I can only share my experiences in hopes that they may offer valid insight for others seeking to heal.

The idea of wholeness means just that, we are whole in all areas; physically, mentally, spiritually. We might hear the word wholeness often in our current day what with trends that include things like yoga, body, mind and soul, alternative or natural healing and many others, but actually this is an ancient concept to be found in the Bible; healing and wholeness through God’s perfect love. We also find that the concept of body, mind and soul comes from the Bible although it is worded a little differently, such as in Matthew 22:37, “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.”

The Bible tells us in may ways that our bodies are the temple of God. For example:
1 Corinthians 6:19-20, 19 “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.” God dwells within us; our bodies are the temple so why would He not heal them? He will, this is His promise but we have to believe and to allow the healing. We must draw upon the faith given us, use it and strengthen ourselves through the healing power of God. Use the strength, Spirit and faith to heal and lift our self daily and as we do, the flow increases. This flow also brings with it the joy of the Spirit and it is through this joy that we can lift our self to receive the healing, to step onto the path to wholeness through God’s perfect love. 1 John 4:18, “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.” When I understood this verse, it became very clear to me that without God’s perfect love, we cannot heal and we cannot be whole. It also became very clear to me that my fear was blocking God’s love and blocking my own healing. I immediately set to work upon this in my prayers and healing sessions with God. The fear left and the healing began.

There are so many wonderful healing verses in the Bible that can help to guide and strengthen us. Isaiah 40:31, But they “that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

If nothing is helping, then this is a sign
that it is time to try God.

If you are like me and you have tried everything and nothing is working, nothing is helping, then this is a sign that it is time to try God. God wants you to put your faith in Him and His healing and His perfect love for you. For decades I have tried everything from traditional healing to herbs to yoga and meditation; you name it, I have tried it to no avail. I am not in any way saying not to use these or other methods, again, this is about my experience. I practiced yoga for many years, I even certified as an instructor so I would know more about healing myself. Yoga did not heal me, as a matter of fact it made my pre-existing conditions worse by triggering hormonal and blood sugar surges. It did help though in many ways, especially to open me to the Spirit, to quieten and calm me, as well as to begin to teach me patience. So certainly use it if you are able. But for me, there really was nothing left to try, except God.

This was me, In the end, all the seeker finds is that they are still seeking.

In the end, all the seeker finds is that they are still seeking. It is when we stop seeking that the journey to healing can begin. I began my healing journey with God by reading the Bible and I began it with an open mind, letting go of any bad attitudes, other people’s opinions or pre-conceived notions, so that I could fully benefit and receive any guidance therein. It worked! Of course there have been many heartfelt conversations as well and that is between each of us and God but if you want to experience wholeness, if you want to heal, if you really are ready, then all you have to do is begin. Read the scriptures daily with an open mind, spend time in quiet prayer and contemplation, and believe.

Jesus tells us in Matthew 21:21-22, “Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. 22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.”

Lots of modern and New Age philosophies tell us to believe, that part is nothing new, but without God, what are we to believe? In what are we believing, belief itself? How and where do we apply the belief? We cannot. It is like trying to bake a cake without the flour to bind the other ingredients. Once I began studying the scriptures, I understood that so much was taken out of context from the Bible, leaving out the most important thing (God) and has been passed around as a do-this or do-that philosophy or quick-fix, all to no avail because none can work or heal without the primary ingredient, without the cornerstone of the foundation, which is again, God.

God stripped me down, there were no other options. If you feel that you are out of options and you do not even have the strength to try or to fight, turn it over and surrender your healing to God. You will find the path, you will be given the way, “Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily . . .” Isaiah 58:8.

Follow the light of your heart!
Many blessings.

Bible Will Teach You How to Know Your Enemy; Know Your Self

When we study the Word, and we are given the ears to hear, and the ability to discern, we can then be confident of the truth from wherever it comes. Last night in re-watching the movie, “Birth of the Dragon,” I was able to understand so much more due to my Bible studies. From the movie, “Lesson number one, know your enemy. Lesson number two, know your self. With these two principles, you need never fear a thousand battles.” This was so heavy and so profound and I got it on such a deep spiritual level regarding all facets of life (not just regarding two men in physical combat). The Bible has shown me how to know my enemy and to know my self and therefore not fear. When we truly understand that we are an eternal child of God, then we know our self . When we understand that anyone or thing (including our own thoughts) that is not in the light of God is of the darkness (even those lost in the gray), then we know our enemy.  Jesus said in Mathew 12:30, “He t...

He Will Make My Feet Like Deer's Feet

There is a tree out my window with branches that look like a stag. I have been contemplating it for years. Sometimes I forget about it, others I see it. The tree stag has been jumping out at me recently again.  I looked it up and found a couple quotes on websites, “the stag came to symbolize God’s power, nobility, freedom and purity.” In Scottish lore, it symbolizes regeneration because of the antlers. “In the Christian imagination, the deer is a symbol of piety, devotion and of God taking care of his children: men.” “In it's simplest form, deer symbolize the joys of loving Christ intimately (Song of Songs 2:7). In biblical symbology, deer represent piety, devotion, and safety in God's care. They are a symbol of thirst and longing for the Lord. ... Deer feet are an analogy for our spiritual feet.”  There were also a couple saints associated with the stag as divine encounters. It basically represents something good in every culture, but I went with the Scottish...
