IndigNATION: A Self-seeking indignant society

We have become a self-seeking indignant society; always angered, constantly offended, each person or group perceiving that they are being treated unfairly. Aside from division, this leads to unrighteous behavior because due to this perceived mistreatment, persons are no longer standing for what is just, they are standing for their own individual perceptions, which in turn leads to more anger, wrath and indignation.

Romans 2:6-10 says,
6 who "will render to each one according to his deeds": 7 eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; 8 but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness--indignation and wrath, 9 tribulation and anguish, on every soul of man who does evil. . . 10 but glory, honor, and peace to everyone who works what is good . . .

Look at the definitions of several words in those verses. Can you identify any areas where you may be exhibiting this behavior whether consciously or unconsciously? I know I can! Reflect on these definitions in conjunction with the above bible verses and how you may relate or these feelings may be affecting your own life and behavior.

unrighteous
not righteous; not upright or virtuous; wicked; sinful; evil:
not in accordance with right or justice; unfair or unjust:

in·dig·na·tion
anger or annoyance provoked by what is perceived as unfair treatment.

wrath
strong, stern, or fierce anger; deeply resentful indignation; ire.

What is the solution? Simple, let go of the self, the ego, and love one another. Be accepting, stop demanding the way of the ego, stop whining and being offended and seek the truth and light of God for “ . . .  we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
Romans 8:28

Self-serving indignation has no place in God’s world which happens to be the world in which we all live.

Bible Will Teach You How to Know Your Enemy; Know Your Self

When we study the Word, and we are given the ears to hear, and the ability to discern, we can then be confident of the truth from wherever it comes. Last night in re-watching the movie, “Birth of the Dragon,” I was able to understand so much more due to my Bible studies. From the movie, “Lesson number one, know your enemy. Lesson number two, know your self. With these two principles, you need never fear a thousand battles.” This was so heavy and so profound and I got it on such a deep spiritual level regarding all facets of life (not just regarding two men in physical combat). The Bible has shown me how to know my enemy and to know my self and therefore not fear. When we truly understand that we are an eternal child of God, then we know our self . When we understand that anyone or thing (including our own thoughts) that is not in the light of God is of the darkness (even those lost in the gray), then we know our enemy.  Jesus said in Mathew 12:30, “He t...

He Will Make My Feet Like Deer's Feet

There is a tree out my window with branches that look like a stag. I have been contemplating it for years. Sometimes I forget about it, others I see it. The tree stag has been jumping out at me recently again.  I looked it up and found a couple quotes on websites, “the stag came to symbolize God’s power, nobility, freedom and purity.” In Scottish lore, it symbolizes regeneration because of the antlers. “In the Christian imagination, the deer is a symbol of piety, devotion and of God taking care of his children: men.” “In it's simplest form, deer symbolize the joys of loving Christ intimately (Song of Songs 2:7). In biblical symbology, deer represent piety, devotion, and safety in God's care. They are a symbol of thirst and longing for the Lord. ... Deer feet are an analogy for our spiritual feet.”  There were also a couple saints associated with the stag as divine encounters. It basically represents something good in every culture, but I went with the Scottish...
