Daily Devotionals: Renewal From A Clean Heart

Daily Devotionals for A Woman's Path to Wholeness: Renewal From A Clean Heart

Let’s talk about renewal; after all, isn’t this what we all want and need? What we crave? What does the Bible say about renewal? In multi-parts, let’s explore the biblical teachings on renewal.

Let’s look at Psalm 51:10 “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.”

In seeking renewal, we must first open to, and allow, the Lord to work through us; to begin cleaning house so-to-speak. Our hearts must be cleansed of all darkness, pain and negativity. We begin this process by turning everything over in prayer to God and as long as we are open, He will take it from there.

Purging the heart will renew the spirit within. You will feel healthy, cleansed and freed of all past blockages, allowing you not only to heal your spirit but to begin to develop a loving, trusting relationship with God, your heavenly creator, who wants nothing more than your wholeness.

Prayer:
Dear Lord, please help and guide me in opening to the renewal of my spirit by allowing you to fully cleanse my heart. I give my heart to you in all ways and know that with your healing and guidance, I will once again be whole and in your right spirit.
In Jesus name, Amen.

Words Across Time

Words linger. Whether it is audible, something spoken to us or something we read, words linger in our minds and stick like glue. Words are one of the few things that set us apart from all the other animals and living things, we can speak. Is it any wonder that the memory of a mother’s soft coo can so strongly calm and send us to the kitchen for a cup of coco or that the memory of a scolding can set us trembling? Words are positive, negative or neutral; neutral words have little effect but words of a positive or negative nature can lift up and inspire or tear down and destroy. In a sense, they are our strongest power and thus the power of words move with us across time. St. Catherine Christine de Pisan Whether I am reading the Bible or an ancient manuscript crafted out a thousand or more years ago by isolated monks on some remote island or a contemporary twentieth century author who has now passed, it never ceases to amaze me that I get to hear their thoughts acr...
