In Crisis Time to Put Faith into Action

Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast. Psalm 57:1

The world is in turmoil and panic with the outbreak of a fearful virus. It is up to each of us to now exercise our faith in staying calm and helping others.

Amid crisis, we must put our trust and faith into action. We must turn to God and give over all fears and anxiety. While others around us and all over the world, are falling apart in chaos and panic, now is the time to draw on the faith which we have strengthened and cultivated. Faith can, and will, see us through.

In addition to our faith, our trust in, and unity with, God will allow us to rise above the circumstances in which we find ourselves. Rising above the fear and panic will keep us calm, knowing, and able to help others and to do our part as needed.

Crisis, whether small or big, are the times for which our faith prepares us so that we are already able and receiving the flow of the Spirit in which we trust. Staying in the moment, as the Bible teaches, is imperative to stay centered and in the Spirit. Do not allow thoughts and fears to ramble ahead to the unknown future. Do not speculate in fear. Stay centered and stay focused on God throughout the day and night, and when it is time to rest, rest in Jesus as you drift peacefully off to sleep.

Do not fall prey to the fear. Keep your wits about you and ask for guidance as you go through your day. Wait for guidance to proceed in any situation in which you are unsure. In following God’s will and guidance for you, you then know that you are indeed in the shadow of His wings.

What we need now is faith, not fear.

Bible Will Teach You How to Know Your Enemy; Know Your Self

When we study the Word, and we are given the ears to hear, and the ability to discern, we can then be confident of the truth from wherever it comes. Last night in re-watching the movie, “Birth of the Dragon,” I was able to understand so much more due to my Bible studies. From the movie, “Lesson number one, know your enemy. Lesson number two, know your self. With these two principles, you need never fear a thousand battles.” This was so heavy and so profound and I got it on such a deep spiritual level regarding all facets of life (not just regarding two men in physical combat). The Bible has shown me how to know my enemy and to know my self and therefore not fear. When we truly understand that we are an eternal child of God, then we know our self . When we understand that anyone or thing (including our own thoughts) that is not in the light of God is of the darkness (even those lost in the gray), then we know our enemy.  Jesus said in Mathew 12:30, “He t...

He Will Make My Feet Like Deer's Feet

There is a tree out my window with branches that look like a stag. I have been contemplating it for years. Sometimes I forget about it, others I see it. The tree stag has been jumping out at me recently again.  I looked it up and found a couple quotes on websites, “the stag came to symbolize God’s power, nobility, freedom and purity.” In Scottish lore, it symbolizes regeneration because of the antlers. “In the Christian imagination, the deer is a symbol of piety, devotion and of God taking care of his children: men.” “In it's simplest form, deer symbolize the joys of loving Christ intimately (Song of Songs 2:7). In biblical symbology, deer represent piety, devotion, and safety in God's care. They are a symbol of thirst and longing for the Lord. ... Deer feet are an analogy for our spiritual feet.”  There were also a couple saints associated with the stag as divine encounters. It basically represents something good in every culture, but I went with the Scottish...
