Learning Not to Doubt

Last night I was mentally questioning God and faith in my head (we all have our moments), and I heard the holy spirit whisper not to doubt, that when I do, I perjure myself. I never thought about it like that but I suppose it is true, it is a point. When I claim belief, then doubt that belief, I have caused myself to lie and to lie about the most important thing: God. Our belief must never waver. The bible tells us not to doubt, be double-minded or uncertain. James 1:8, A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. And in the whole context, James 1:5-8, 5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

In other verses, Rom 14:23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

1 Tim 2:8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

Mat 8:26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

Mat 14:31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

Mat 21:21
21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.
22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

Mark 11:23-24
23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Luke 12:29
And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.

Clearly my doubt is the problem. If we are in doubt then we are not in faith. That’s pretty clear but easier said than done. We have to draw upon the strength that is provided us to overcome the doubt and of course the catch-twenty-two is that we must not doubt that strength either. Turing to the bible is the key and it is very clear after reading the above verses. We find the strength in the Word; we draw upon it and overcome any and all doubt even if it takes multiple times a day until it is our habit through the belief that we are strengthening.

We must remember, God is stronger than anything including our own doubts.
1 John 3:19-20
19 And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.
20 For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.

Bible Will Teach You How to Know Your Enemy; Know Your Self

When we study the Word, and we are given the ears to hear, and the ability to discern, we can then be confident of the truth from wherever it comes. Last night in re-watching the movie, “Birth of the Dragon,” I was able to understand so much more due to my Bible studies. From the movie, “Lesson number one, know your enemy. Lesson number two, know your self. With these two principles, you need never fear a thousand battles.” This was so heavy and so profound and I got it on such a deep spiritual level regarding all facets of life (not just regarding two men in physical combat). The Bible has shown me how to know my enemy and to know my self and therefore not fear. When we truly understand that we are an eternal child of God, then we know our self . When we understand that anyone or thing (including our own thoughts) that is not in the light of God is of the darkness (even those lost in the gray), then we know our enemy.  Jesus said in Mathew 12:30, “He t...

The Process of Healing - From the Spirit to the Body

One thing I have realized recently is how the spiritual healing process works, at least for me. The spirit gets uplifted, and when the spirit gets uplifted, the mind gets uplifted and when the mind gets uplifted, the body has to follow suit. This is spiritual healing. But we have to allow the Holy Spirit to uplift us, and as I have seen (and written about previously) in research, the root of the word believe, is to allow . When all blocks to our belief are removed, then we can allow the healing. So before we can receive any healing, we have to remove the blocks. We do this by asking in prayer for the blocks to be revealed and removed, and then once they are revealed we see them clearly for what they are and we no longer allow them to remain in our “spiritual sight” so to speak. We can then allow our self to be uplifted and the healing process begins; in the spirit, in the mind, and finally, in the body. It may take continual work, daily or even hourly. It is not somet...
