Searching for Self: Days of Confusion

Can you find yourself? Have you found yourself? It is an ongoing process that lasts a lifetime because we are ever-changing but to get to the inner core of one's being is to take the journey of a lifetime.

Sometimes, we go in circles, or so it seems, but actually we are spiraling inward. It is on those days that you feel like you are getting nowhere, or that you are just spinning your wheels, that you are actually making progress because when you come out of the fog, you will always emerge clearer and more confident. Searching through confusion has a way of putting you right where you need to be to see what you need to see. It is all part of the journey. You are many-faceted. Go ahead and dig in to the crazy and the confusion. You just might surprise yourself with what you uncover: the pure freedom of the exploration of the soul.

Words Across Time

Words linger. Whether it is audible, something spoken to us or something we read, words linger in our minds and stick like glue. Words are one of the few things that set us apart from all the other animals and living things, we can speak. Is it any wonder that the memory of a mother’s soft coo can so strongly calm and send us to the kitchen for a cup of coco or that the memory of a scolding can set us trembling? Words are positive, negative or neutral; neutral words have little effect but words of a positive or negative nature can lift up and inspire or tear down and destroy. In a sense, they are our strongest power and thus the power of words move with us across time. St. Catherine Christine de Pisan Whether I am reading the Bible or an ancient manuscript crafted out a thousand or more years ago by isolated monks on some remote island or a contemporary twentieth century author who has now passed, it never ceases to amaze me that I get to hear their thoughts acr...

The Process of Healing - From the Spirit to the Body

One thing I have realized recently is how the spiritual healing process works, at least for me. The spirit gets uplifted, and when the spirit gets uplifted, the mind gets uplifted and when the mind gets uplifted, the body has to follow suit. This is spiritual healing. But we have to allow the Holy Spirit to uplift us, and as I have seen (and written about previously) in research, the root of the word believe, is to allow . When all blocks to our belief are removed, then we can allow the healing. So before we can receive any healing, we have to remove the blocks. We do this by asking in prayer for the blocks to be revealed and removed, and then once they are revealed we see them clearly for what they are and we no longer allow them to remain in our “spiritual sight” so to speak. We can then allow our self to be uplifted and the healing process begins; in the spirit, in the mind, and finally, in the body. It may take continual work, daily or even hourly. It is not somet...
